Daily Notes on Poetry & Related Matters

1 October 2006: I cheated. I was going to try for five mathemaku-sketches yesterday, but didn't return to Paint Shop till late. When I did, I just did four illumagistic variations on the mathemaku I'd done earlier:

The usual thing happened as I made these: each seemed a wonderful discovery as it in process; each seemed null the next day. Oh, well, they got me through this entry. And I like the backwards "beginning" in the last one. The absolute value of a jumble of colors with, perhaps, the word, "beginning," in it, backwards or forwards, may be effective. I hope to play with that idea today at Paint Shop--as well as make at least one sketch of a genuine mathemaku.
