June 5: Today is the last day of school for students, so my vacation has started, no assignment for today coming my way. I have to get going. I still feel listless, though. . . .
My summer schedule: (1) write a review of Nico Vassilakis's Text Loses Time for my Small Press Review column; (2) re-scan all the material for the second volume of Writing To Be Seen and finish getting that book into a printable pdf file or set of files. I also want to get a book on intelligence done, but I must not get involved with that till I get items 1 and 2 out of the way.
I've just gone through my blog entries from the past year hunting for words I'm sure I wrote concerning one of the sequences in Nico's book, but haven't been able to find it. Very annoying. A main object of my blog is to make such things readily retrievable through storage therein. Another was to let me scribble and store insights I can use later in things like my column. I have a back-up on my external drive of all my entries but my search engine isn't very good. It found many mentions of Nico in my blog, but not the right one. And I tested in on search words I know are in the blog--because I had just seen entries they were in--and the engine didn't find them.
Phooey.
