June 14: One of the masters of the treated page is Jonathan Brannen:




The three above are from his long sequence, How To Do Things With Words. I chose some excerpts of this for Writing To Be Senn, Volume Two. Left out were these, for lack of room. By themselves, they are "merely" a trio of interesting textual illumages. To see them better for what they are, we need an earlier page:


Thanks to this page and others like it, the trio becomes an extension of "how to do things with words"--but not by following the instructions given in the text, but by doing visual things with them. A satire on the unimaginative pedagogue, for one thing. But a lovely set of visopoetic maneuvers, as well.
