Daily Notes on Poetry & Related Matters

June 9: Today I'm annoyed because I learned of a university press anthology of poems inspired by Wallace Stevens's life and work. I have at least two that should be in it. One is the top of the two below, which is from Of Manywhere-at-Once. The second one, which I've posted here before, isn't much, I don't think, but it's a Stevens poem. My "Cryptographiku for Wallace Stevens" I consider the best poem for him every done. Sorry, no more false modesty for me. I'm too old for that, and too ignored. I have another Stevens poem about "the the," but can't remember much about it except that I posted it at New-Poetry, whose moderator assisted in the editing of the Stevens-poetry anthology. I'm pretty sure it was a good one, too.
